Creating a positive, productive and successful work environment

An effective work environment is vital to the success of small businesses and large corporations alike. When problems remain unsolved and rules never get implemented, the result can be an unproductive staff and a stale work environment.

People working together with a common denominator will accomplish tasks with greater ease and have higher expectations of themselves and their work. (success and passion)A positive work environment is critical no matter how many employees you have. It is management that fosters the work atmosphere so they are responsible for conducting things in a way that helps raise people's spirits. There are four basic beliefs:

  • Hope

  • Trust

  •  Pleasure

  • Opportunity

All this will help to create a positive work environment.

Trust

Chaos is created with petty rules. A productive and professional & successful employee is molded by the boundaries set before them. Strict and unyielding rules that leave little to no room for personal judgment and ownership of one's work can only destroy motivation and ultimately decrease  productivity.

"Fussy" rules only add chaos to work environment.

It is my personal experience that boundaries mold a self-motivated staff member into a productive professional. Strict, unreasonable demands are the result of a dominant strong managed system. They leave no room for individual judgment and "no ownership" of one's work. This drastically reduces the motivation to complete tasks efficiently.

In an establishment that trusts its employees, people will make the ultimate sacrifice to assist their company in succeeding. Praise goes along way in our personal and professional life. Successful career change

Optimism will help a group thrive by fuelling the aspirations of employees for achievement. The best employees seem to thrive off of the praise they receive when they tackle a tough problem and see it through to resolution.

When a company trusts its employees, those workers are far more likely to make sacrifices to help the company through difficult times. A kind word here and there goes a long way in both the professional and person spheres of influence.

Enjoyment in a successful work place

Enjoyment ... Yes, even the business owner and manager want to wake up the next morning with that "desire" to want to be at work! Real enjoyment at work comes when you and your team are deeply committed to a problem, and you persevere together to tackle it. It isn't the laughs and giggles that waste company time.

Opportunity in the work environment

Without a chance to grow, workers will not live up to their successful potential. We all need some kind of motivation that helps us on the road to attaining our goals. Those that punch a clock and do the same thing day in and day out are most likely looking for a better opportunity.

You have to be able to relate with your workers when you are a business owner so that you understand what is important to them. Asking them where they envision themselves in the future is a great way to find out what motivates them. If you offer employees the opportunity for advancement, then they are more likely to say that they will still be working for you. Make every day a success

Promoting from within is always a good idea as it motivates people to want to do their best so that they can make it to the next level.

It is important for companies to take a careful look at the work atmosphere on a regular basis. This helps reduce the possibility of lawsuits and lost assets. Understand that your employees should be valued and then make certain the work atmosphere reflects that.

Opportunity

People generally need some sort of challenge to motivate themselves. Effective leadership means offering people the chance to grow. Recognize their contribution with positive feedback, raises, and advancement to more challenging positions. People who are willing to expand into new things while working with a diverse set of co-workers will learn new roles and expand their view of the world.

These people may be few and far between, but they enrich the work environment and contribute to a stronger organization. As leader, you are empowered with the ability to inspire people and increase their productivity. By generating an atmosphere that is conducive to trust, hope, pleasure, and the potential for personal growth, you are creating a more powerful team and cultivating future leaders at the same time.
